MARPI PROGRAMMES

Research & Innovation Programme

Generating evidence, testing new approaches and improving how services work.

MARPI's strategic direction includes implementation research, innovation and e-Health. As a learning organisation, MARPI uses programme data, pilots, digital approaches and research partnerships to improve service design and support evidence-informed policy and practice.

WHAT THE PROGRAMME DOES

How MARPI turns the programme into practical services.

MARPI combines community relationships, health-facility systems, differentiated service delivery and routine data so programmes do not stop at mobilisation—they connect people to prevention, treatment, referral and follow-up.

  • Implementation research and operational learning
  • Demonstration and pilot activities
  • Use of digital/e-Health and m-Health platforms
  • Routine monitoring, evaluation and data-use cycles
  • Documentation and dissemination of lessons
  • Research partnerships and translation of findings into programme improvement

IMPLEMENTATION MODEL

How MARPI Implements This Programme

The programme is organised as a connected pathway from understanding community need to delivering services, following up clients and using data for improvement.

Define the Problem

Use programme data and community/provider feedback to identify a service-delivery challenge.

Design an Innovation

Develop a practical intervention, technology, workflow or service model to address the problem.

Pilot

Test technical and operational feasibility in a controlled or phased setting.

Measure

Use monitoring, evaluation or implementation research to assess what changed and why.

Adapt

Improve the approach using evidence, feedback, cost and implementation experience.

Share & Scale

Document lessons, disseminate findings and support uptake where the evidence justifies expansion.

CORE COMPONENTS

What Happens in Practice

These are the main operational components clients, communities and partners are likely to see during implementation.

e-Health & m-Health

Digital platforms can support communication, reminders, information sharing and service access.

Routine Data Use

Programme data are analysed to identify gaps, guide corrective action and improve allocation of effort.

Implementation Science

Research focuses on how proven interventions can be delivered effectively in real-world settings.

Documentation

MARPI captures lessons, good practices and programme experience for learning and dissemination.

Research Partnerships

Collaboration with academic, government and implementation partners expands technical learning.

Policy & Programme Uptake

Evidence is used to inform service design, advocacy and decisions beyond a single project.

CONNECTED PROGRAMMES

Explore the MARPI Programme Model

MARPI programmes are designed to reinforce each other rather than work as separate silos.

Programme information is summarised from MARPI's Strategic Plan 2021–2025, the 2025 Annual Report and current MARPI service architecture.
